Why's My Wagoneer's Rear Mirror All Wavy and Funky?

I'm wrestling with a real mess on the driver’s side rear mirror of my Wagoneer Series III. It’s all wavy and makes everything look like it’s underwater, especially when I see other cars’ headlights. Is this a common thing, or just my ride?

That wavy effect is likely due to the auto-dimming layer in the mirror. It can degrade over time, especially if exposed to extreme heat or direct sunlight frequently. Since your Wagoneer is new, the dealership should replace it under warranty. Auto-dimming mirrors are great when they work, but when they fail, it’s definitely distracting.
