On January 3, I picked up a Grand Wagoneer Series III for 2022; things have not been great. Two days later I had to go back it to the dealer since both the main control screens and the driver display needed replacements. They want it fixed by the 28th, but since then I have had two Wagoneer loaners, and, to be honest, they have been plagued with issues.

None of the three cars have been able to run the wipers correctly or automatically change high beams. After just a few minutes, the seat heaters turn off; CarPlay barely connects to iPhones; and the touch unlocking capability of the door handle only works intermittently.

And just today, the second loaner struggled to climb even small hills after losing all power for roughly ten miles on her way back from a ski trip. It returned momentarily to normal then lost power once more.

What is happening with these vehicles? Are other people going through the same thing? or Am I simply unlucky?

Just a week into owning my new Wagoneer, and it’s already in the shop for a sensor issue. Ugh! I’m crossing my fingers that’s the only problem, but my optimism is taking a hit. The Wagoneer service team tried to help, but even they were frustrated with the dealer’s lack of communication. Seriously, it’s a bit nuts.

I love the car - it’s awesome! But I can’t shake the feeling that I might be in for a bumpy ride ahead.

sounds like you're going through a similar experience! I’m starting to feel like these early issues with the Wagoneers are more common than we’d hope. It’s frustrating when you’re excited about a new car, but it keeps landing in the shop for different issues. I totally get the optimism fading—it’s hard to stay positive when you're constantly dealing with problems, especially things like sensors and other features that just shouldn’t be failing this soon.

I love the look and feel of the Wagoneer too, but all these small glitches are definitely taking away from the experience. It’s also rough when even the service team can’t seem to get things sorted out smoothly, and that lack of communication from the dealer doesn’t help. I’m hoping both of us just hit a string of bad luck and that things improve from here. Fingers crossed the issues get resolved quickly for you! Let’s hope we’re not in for more of a bumpy ride with these cars.
