Got a Stubborn Passenger Door!

Hey guys.

I'm running into a bit of a hiccup with the passenger door on my Wagoneer. It’s being super stubborn and won’t open from the outside after it’s locked. I can only get it to work if I pop it open from the inside first - then the outside handle decides to cooperate.

Has anyone else had this quirky issue with their Wagoneer, or do you have any secret hacks to get this door behaving? TIA.

Maybe your locking mechanism is damaged. Have it checked by your dealer.

Or try disconnecting and reconnecting the harness that connects the door to the chassis.

Check if the Bowden cable is broken or disconnected, or if there are any broken or damaged rods or plastic connectors.

Thanks a ton for the responses! I've got an appointment lined up with the dealer next week, so I'm just gonna hang tight and see what they dig up. I’ll keep you all in the loop - let’s hope it’s nothing too crazy!

It sounds like great news. I guess you had the appointment. It's been a month since then. How it all ended?
