A friend of mine had quite the ordeal with their 2021 Jeep Wagoneer, which only had about 15,000 miles on it. While towing during a trip in August, the vehicle lost power on steep hills, barely reaching 30 mph. When they took it to the dealer, they were told it needed a new catalytic converter, which was a $7,500 repair, luckily covered under warranty.

After waiting for over two months due to parts being backordered and some mix-ups, they learned the wrong part had been sent. They’ve owned several vehicles before, all without issues, so this whole experience has been really crazy for them.

Crazy, right!??? It’s hard to believe they made such a mistake, especially with something so critical

That's crazy, yeah! Two months for a part? I wonder if they have considered escalating the issue to Jeep directly. They shouldn't have to deal with such a hassle for a vehicle that's supposed to be reliable. It would be interesting to hear how the dealer handles customer service after all this.

Please update us on this.

Yeah, I totally agree. It's been such a nightmare, and for a vehicle that's practically new, too! They did consider reaching out to Jeep, but with the back-and-forth on the part mix-ups, they’ve been hoping the dealer would get it sorted. I think they might finally escalate if there's another delay. At this point, it's more about the principle, they chose the Wagoneer expecting reliability and support, and it’s been anything but. I’m curious to see if Jeep steps up their customer service after all this as well.

Do you have a second car to use, at least?
