My dad picked up his shiny new Wagoneer a few weeks ago, the weather where we come from is crazy, so he finally went to crank up the AC for the first time...and nothing! Here's the kicker: the temperature buttons only go down, not up. He figured he'd wait until the first oil change to mention the funky buttons, but a non-functioning AC is a whole new level of concern for me. He gave me a call and told me about it and is asking for tips. Anyone else having these climate control issues in their new Wagoneers? Should he head straight to the dealer or is there a simple fix for it?

I had that problem as well wherein the air turns on and off intermittently. Mine was at 36k miles at that time. Super frustrating.

To control the temp, press the switch downward to cool down or upward to warm up. It's easy to understand once you try it.

a brand new Wagoneer with a busted AC and wonky temp buttons? With a problem like that especially on a new vehicle, I'd tell your dad to head straight to the dealer.

Those climate control systems are complex and messing with them yourself could void the warranty. Plus, the buttons only going down is a weird one sounds like a software glitch or a faulty control unit. Tell him to document everything, take pictures or videos of the problem, and don't let them brush it off as a minor issue. He paid good money for a luxury SUV, and it should be working perfectly.
