Struggling with Mobile Hotspot Connection

I’m having a heck of a time with my Amazon Fire TVs staying connected to my mobile hotspot. They keep dropping the connection every minute or two, and it’s seriously driving me nuts. I’ve tried all the usual fixes and even checked for software updates, but nothing’s working. Any other solutions?

My friend told me that I could either jailbreak or root my phone; jailbreaking my iPhone would cost money to enable tethering, whereas rooting my Samsung would be free. I've never done either, and I'm scared to try LOL

Are you in a spotty area? There is a possibility that your connection is not stable and that’s why it keeps dropping. Have you also tried using another device to connect to your hotspot?
