I'm having some trouble with my wagon. Today, I was trying to pass someone on the highway, and I floored it, but the RPMs wouldn't go above 2,000. It's like the engine is just revving high but not putting out any power. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Have you ever heard of limp mode? It is when your engine is limited from its performance to prevent further damage when the car detects a problem.

So, you might have transmission issues. It might be slipping. It happens when there are issues with the fluid or internal components.
This would be the major cause. I think going to a mechanic would be the best for the moment.

Are there any error messages on the cluster?

It could have issues with the mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, air filter, fuel filter, or spark plugs. Have you tried contacting your dealer to let them check your car?
