My SIII suddenly showed a warning message about the 4WD overheating. I called the dealer to fix it, but they want me to pay money upfront in case it's not covered by the warranty. Is this a common problem, and do all dealers do this?

Are you sure about that? I don't think this is possible. Do you have the possibility to go to another dealer? I mean, you are covered under a 4y/50k warranty. There is no way they could say that. Crazy!

Uhm I think it's common for dealers to request upfront payment for diagnostics if there's a chance the issue isn't covered by warranty.

Yes, that's right, @Alan! So, @anneig, if you are still under warranty, you will leave the dealership with your money back.
