Brand new vehicles

I recently bought a used 2022 Series III, but I have noticed a few minor issues. When I took it to the dealership for an inspection, I discovered that it was built in 2021. They gave me a loaner, a 2022 Wagoneer, which was built in 2022. Is it common for new vehicles to sit in storage for long periods of time?

Trucking issues are causing long shipping times for cars. But because you bought a used car, the dealer isn't required to explain why it took so long.

I see. I guess it really depends. At least, now I'm aware of what to check first when buying a brand new car. Thanks!
