It’s cheaper if I install it on my own right? I’m just looking for some tips so that I can save more. Everything is expensive nowadays and upgrading a little will cost so much. Anything that I should know more before installing it?

It is naturally cheaper to install it on your own just make sure that you do it by the book so that you can avoid further problems and additional expenses. Every time you finish a step make sure that it is done properly, you should also remember to supply power to the brake controller unit, then run a positive and negative electrical cable from the main unit to the battery through the circuit breaker, which should be mounted as close to the battery as possible. you should also make sure that you use existing holes to avoid compromising the structural integrity of the material.

everything costs an arm and a leg these days! Yes, you can totally DIY this. Look into controllers that are known for being easy to install, like the Tekonsha Prodigy series. If you’re not confident about hardwiring, there are wireless brake controllers that simplify things but might cost a bit more upfront. In the long run, though, it’s still cheaper than a shop doing it for you.

I like to do things myself, but the installation looked too hard. And they want to charge $100 just to plug it in? That's ridiculous. Elon Musk thinks he knows everything.

I was looking at the Mopar #82219095AC Trailer Brake Controller Kit, but you also need the right-side piece of the brake controller switch, which isn't included. I started to go that route, but the cost quickly added up to over $600. I ended up going with a Prodigy brake controller instead.
